Saturday Movie : Taxi No. 9211

On saturday evenings, I usually prefer to hangout in shopping plazas. Some windows shopping, some junk food and/or late evening movie in the theatre and then back to my place. Just last saturday evening I suddenly decided to buy a new DVD player. I bought a new Philips DVD player 5106K. Its a cool sleek player with some attractive features like Divx compatibility, 5.1 sound, DTS surround, digital dolby. A new 5.1 speaker seems to be on cards now. I have not yet decided on which one to buy. I hope google helps me out..

With my new DVD player at my home, I decided to watch the new releases at home. So I picked up CD's of Taxi No. 9211 and Jim Carey's Fun with Dick & Jane. I have watched Taxi No. 9211 this saturday evening.

To be frank I liked this movie. Its a good one time watch. A good enteraining package. Nana patekar is cool and has impressed with his work. Last movie I watched was Rang De Basanti starring Aamir Khan. 9211 may not be ranked same as RDB. But you won't feel disappointed. Nana is a taxi driver who fails to meet even his daily expenses. He was an LIC agent but was working as a taxi driver and hiding the fact from his wife ( Sonali Kulkarni ). John Abrahim is spoilt brat who happens to hire his taxi. Circumstances make them run after each other. All the sequences are well placed. You must watch it know why they are running after each other... Yes there is Sameera Reddy too but she does'nt have much scope to make her presence felt. The whole movie has been shot in Mumbai. The movie is quite gripping. Its a typical multiplex movie but may not do well in interiors.

I will be watching Fun with Dick & Jane on Sunday. I hope to have funday on sunday. See you soon..
